The pressure to enter a readathon this month is huge.
But unfortunately, August is one of the busiest months for me, so I’m that awful person who won’t be actively participating I’M SORRY! I’ll definitely be supporting you amazing readers from the sidelines and will try and use the twitter reading sprints to my advantage (…and you should too! They really help motivate me to sit back and read, even if it is just for ten minutes or so!)
So with out any more delay, here’s my August TBR!
Gap Year In Ghost Town by Michael Pryor
Gap Year is our August BOTM over a The YA Room, and I’m really excited to read this one! It’s set in Melbourne and involves the ghost hunting business. I’ve heard amazing reviews already, plus Michael is honestly the sweetest and Gap Year In Ghost Town is his 38th book HONESTLY GOALS.
More Than This by Patrick Ness
I’m cheating by adding this one, I started it before August! More Than This is set after the death of a high schooler named Seth, and I’ve already started listening to this one on audio from my local library. So far it’s pretty bizarre and strange, but I kinda dig it.
Stardust by Neil Gaiman
My and my wonderful girlfriend are currently buddy reading Stardust, a book I’ve always wanted to read because the movie is amazing! It’s about fallen stars, witches and really dark rituals, and of course ROMANCE!
A Court Of Wings And Ruin by Sarah J Maas
I absolutely loved ACOMAF, but for some reason I’ve been putting ACOWAR off and I have no idea why. I’m about 240 pages in and hope to finish it this month.
Freedom Swimmer by Wai Chim
I had the amazing opportunity to meet Wai at an awesome dumpling evening that she organised in Melbourne and listening to her talk about writing and her life has motivated me more than ever to pick up her debut novel. I’ve heard nothing but wonderful things about it.
The Bone Season by Samantha Shannon
I’ve had the series on my shelves for quite a while now and have quite a few friends who adore it. I’m attending a few of Shannon’s events for Melbourne Writers Festival and decided that I should probably have some idea of what The Bone Season is actually about before I attend her panel.
A Shadow Bright And Burning by Jessica Cluess
This book was picked of my shelves by Madelyn! We’ve started a new thing to selected one book for each other every month, so hopefully I like this one. I made her read The One And Only Ivan and she really enjoyed it! What should I make her read next?
I plan to read more books this month, but these are all definitely on up there on the priority list at the moment. I’d hate to be an eager beaver and add way more than I can handle!
Have you read any of these? What’s on your TBR this month?
Reading is calling to meeeeeeeeeeee, see you soon with my July Wrap Up!
